Acceptable Use

Last updated: 2 October 2026

This note applies to every Tinlark product, and especially to data feeds. It exists to keep the products working for everyone and to keep the data they carry used fairly. It forms part of the Terms of Service.

Please do

  • Use a product for the purpose its page describes.
  • Stay within the rate limits and plan limits stated on the product page or in its documentation.
  • Keep your access key private and use it only for your own account.
  • Follow any attribution or licence notice that comes with a data feed. Many feeds are built on open data, and its licence passes on to you.
  • Check data before relying on it for anything important.

Please do not

  • Resell or republish a feed or its raw data as a competing feed or data set, or share bulk copies with people who have not subscribed, unless the product page says you may. Using the data inside your own product or reports is fine.
  • Share or sell your access key, or use several accounts to get around a limit.
  • Overload or interfere with a product or its servers: no flooding, no automated attempts to bypass limits, no probing for weaknesses.
  • Target private individuals. Do not use a data feed to harass, stalk, track, profile or expose a private person, or to build lists of individuals' personal data.
  • Break the law or other people's rights, including data protection, consumer, anti-discrimination and intellectual property law.
  • Use data for decisions with serious legal or personal effect about a person, such as employment, credit, housing, insurance or eligibility for services, without independent checks and any human review the law requires.
  • Break the rules of the original source. If a feed is built on a public source that has its own terms, those terms still apply to what you do with the data.

If something goes wrong

If Tinlark sees use that breaks this note, it may slow, suspend or end access, and where reasonable it will tell you first. If you think a product is being misused, or that a feed contains data it should not, write to [email protected]. Reports about personal data are looked at promptly, and data that should not be there is removed.
